Where Science Meets Art
Words are only half the story; images bring the science to life
With one foot in the world of science and one in art, imaging specialist Linnea Rundgren of Linear Imaging is combining the two disciplines to communicate her unique perspective on the magnificent architecture of nature and the microscopic magic of the space between spaces.
Using technical imaging techniques, Linnea transcends space and time to illustrate the unseen in life, science, and the microcosmos.

Putting it together
Linnea’s work has been shown to wide audiences. Most recently her light cube display Behind The Scenes of Science was installed during the ACMM23ICONN2014 Nano Technology Conference in Adelaide in February 2014. The show later moved on to the NGV Melbourne Now Exhibition’s Open Studios event at the Abbotsford Convent in Melbourne.
Her exhibition of giant light boxes showing images of Life In The Microcosmos toured Australia throughout the summer of 2011-2012 and inspired visitors at a range of festivals and events throughout the year, such as Rainbow Serpent Festival, Entheogenesis Australis, Earth Frequency Festival and For The Love Festival.
Linear Imaging is continuing her work with illustrating what is going on behind the scenes of science and is currently accepting submissions of interest from researchers who can provide samples to be photographed and displayed in future exhibitions. About Linnea
Artist and scientist
Born and bred in Sweden to a family of artists, scientists and journalists, Linnea’s passions were perhaps predestined. The majority of Linnea’s life has to this day revolved around exploring the realms of art and science through a range of mediums, projects, and studies (academic and otherwise).
With numerous trips around the world behind her, she moved to Melbourne, Australia in 2007 to pursue a Bachelor of Scientific Photography at RMIT. She has since maintained a dual existence, migrating like a bird between her home in Stockholm and her studios in Melbourne, often participating in international projects along the way.
